Namaste! My life’s work has been assisting people in getting their life Simplified, Supple and Sorted! It all started when I was a little; I loved to clean and sort things. There are three components I ask my clients to identify the necessity of their possessions. I call this the Fundamentals of Stuff…
Fundamentals of Stuff
- Beauty – what you own should be pleasing to the eye.
- Purpose – Do you USE it regularly?
- Placement – Items are used more effectively when placed properly.
By way of education, I became certified in Massage Therapy in 1996. This is where I first started my yoga journey. After getting my LMT certification, it soon became obvious when clients started to say, “Before I get on the table, can we just talk for a few minutes?”, my superpowers more than the laying on of hands. This led me to go back to school, participating in a year-long course on different modalities of counseling. In 2007, I got my RYT-200 Yoga Teacher certification. In 2019, I will finish my studies as an Ordained Minister. While this is the crux of my formal education, by no means is it my most prized education. Life experience can be a tough, yet a perfect teacher, when utilized properly. Life has taught me well.
While living in San Francisco, CA and later, Ewa Beach, HI, people began requesting I come to their homes to help them re-organize and get rid of things they were having a hard time releasing. I would spend time moving things around, making piles in the realm of significance. Creating more space and organizing for ease of interaction with items we deemed to have the three Fundamentals of Stuff. I’ve even helped paint and decorate, using only the items you already own! Transforming stagnant energy into space to breathe, create and enjoy.
More and more people were asking about my recipes, asking me to create a book of my favorite recipes for them to follow. They were curious about how to grocery shop, from a yogic standpoint. I began talking people to the market with me and teaching them how to cook from body sense, rather than a recipe.
There was also a request to develop personalized yoga sequences to assist in maintaining their changing lifestyle. I started creating asana sequences using my knowledge in Kundalini, Vinyasa, Hatha, Bikram, and Shadow traditions, sharing a short routine created especially for the client to reinforce their new habits and environment. My career as a bodyworker became less prominent, my hands-on support in creating a new lifestyle, became the center of the wheel.
But enough about me; I want to know about you!
“Juliann began teaching me yoga 3 years ago and the results are amazing. I was 57 at the time and had lost a bit of my flexibility and was nervous about my lack. Her obvious knowledge and strong intuition quickly set me at ease. Within just a couple of months of her teaching me, I regained flexibility and the core strength that I had 10+ years younger! This btw included my being strong and flexible enough to go into a backbend position! Thanks to the moon and back Juliann.” — Deb Outlaw, St Cloud, FL
“My house is small (under 800 sq ft). When in a small space making everything fit while allowing space can be a challenge. I brought Juliann in to help me create more flow space. In less than 3 hours, she rearranged my living room and kitchen, creating more space then I thought possible! I feel like I’m living in a 1200 sq ft house!” — Sandy Van Der Weerd, St Petersburg, FL
